Environmental protection
At Industeel, environmental protection is a key issue in the applications we serve and on our own sites.
Industeel products are often used in critical applications where failures can have serious or even catastrophic consequences for the environment. The recognized quality and reliability of Industeel products, even under the most severe operating conditions, makes them the environmentally safe choice for nuclear reactors, water treatment facilities, oil refineries, gas treatment installations, chemical plants and all environment-critical steel plate applications.
And like all members of the ArcelorMittal group, environmental protection is a priority on all our sites. We are working to reduce CO2 and other emissions, improve wastewater quality and raise the energy efficiency of all our facilities. The entire workforce is aware of the importance of these efforts and has contributed to successful ISO 14001 certification of all our sites.
In addition, Industeel develops products that are essential in new applications designed to meet the environmental challenges facing our society. We are a leading supplier of cryogenic steels for the treatment, transport and storage of natural gas, a cleaner carbon-based fuel than petroleum. Our R&D people are working on new steels for alternative energy projects, including solar, wind and geothermal applications, and for future CO2 capture and storage facilities.
