The NACE 2010 conference is taking place in San Antonio, Texas, from 14^th to 18t^h March, a gathering of experts on all sorts of corrosion issues from oil & gas to potable water, to depollution, to power generation.

Industeel will also be present at the exhibition at booth #2633.

New York City ‘s Water Supply System is one of the most extensive municipal water systems in the world. This complex system relies on a combination of tunnels, aqueducts and reservoirs to meet the daily need of 8 million residents and visitors. New York City is constantly up-grading its supply system with the N°3 water tunnel.

The huge “Monovar®” control valves which will be supplied by Griss Sapag, are so big that their production is requiring the use of 17-4PH plates in thicknesses from 100 to 130mm.

As soon as Griss Sapag contacted Industeel, a project was launched to check material properties through their thickness and the effect of the surface coating treatments. A plate was provided to realize a prototype which was successfully qualified by the New York City  Water team allowing Griss Sapag to place the total order with Industeel. Industeel has already produced extra heavy stainless plates in 304L/316L and recently delivered 120mm superduplex plates for sea water pumps to Japan.

On November 7-12, 2009 Industeel will be present at  IDA World Congress in Dubai, UAE – Booth 51/70.

This event includes all the main companies working for the desalination industry (end users, utilities, fabricators, GRP steel suppliers…) researchers, consultants and manufacturers.

Jérôme Peultier from the Research Centre will present a paper about “New trends in selection of metallic material for desalination industry”.

Our booth at this exhibition will allow us to meet a lot of key engineering contributing to improve our fame in this market.

The annual conference of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) is taking place in Atlanta (GA) between March 22^nd and 26^th. The conference is typically gathering some 6000 attendees, covering all fields of corrosion with highly specialised symposia on oil and gas, corrosion in marine systems or pulp and paper, etc. Industeel has a booth (1621) in the exhibition area and will also present two technical contributions:

1. Effect of aging and hydrogen on fracture mechanics and CVN properties of 2.25 Mo steel grades – application to MPT issues by Pillot et al, and
2. Recent experience on the behavior of sour service resistant steels, by Loukachenko et al.

A particular material appraisal has been issued for UR® 2202 produced at the Creusot mill by the German TÜV-SÜD. The material is approved for use in pressure vessels with a design temperature between - 10°C and 150 °C. An enlarged test program is currently under way to obtain TÜV approvals for the mill in Charleroi.
