Tenasteel® :A multi purpose cold work tool steel
Materials are constantly changing and productivity always need to increase. To build car bodies, car makers are using more and more high strenght steels allowing substantial lightening by reduction of sheet thicknesses. Stamping tools used for sheet processing to make cockpit components are working in more and more severe conditions because of the mechanical properties of the steels they process. Stamping dies made of onventional tool steels may exhibit very short life time in those environment. They must be made of tool steel having combinations of properties like wear and chipping resistance which are not so easy to get in one single material.
Industeel has developed the Tenasteel® grade to meet these demands.
Tenasteel® has a new chemical balance, featuring a low level of carbon and chromium with titanium additions to produce a finer carbide distribution.

The result is improved toughness compared to standard grades, with no loss in wear resistance.

Whatever the hardness,Tenasteel®offers twice the toughness of X160CrMoV12 grades. It can be heat treated in the same temperature range as conventional steels and is compatible with all surface treatments and coatings.
Tenasteel®is available in sections 2000x 15 to 75 mm and 500 x 80 to 300 mm.
It is used in tool steels for cutting & stamping, precision cutting, shearing and crushing applications.
